Cynthia Lauer

Cynthia Lauer has been practicing family law since 1996.  After completing her law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School, she articled with the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, a part of the Ontario government that represents those who are mentally incapable of making their own decisions.

Following her call to the Bar, she started a busy family law practice in Scarborough, Ontario.  She was frequently in court with domestic violence, Children’s Aid and complex child custody cases. She was contract counsel for the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Toronto for a year.  Following that, she was an associate with Bortolussi and Associates.  She started her Richmond Hill practice in 2005, and did her collaborative family law training the same year.  She is committed to helping clients explore ways to resolve issues arising from a separation that minimize conflict and encourage respectful treatment of the parties.
